"I'm absolutely blown away,"
"Thank you so much,"
"Like mind blown, words can't express my excitement and gratitude."
We envisioned creating a cozy sanctuary for our sweet client and her two kitties.
This 1940s home was in desperate need of a makeover as it had been a rental for many years with very little maintenance. It needed all new windows and siding, a brand new kitchen, and two bathrooms updated.
Susan came to us with the idea of a “tranquility palette” for her color scheme. It included different hues of blue with light whites and creams. We kept her decor simple and elegant with lots of solid colors broken up with muted patterns and a good mix of textures for interest.
“KDG has a comprehensive nature of how you design a home: beauty, quality, function and value. May favorite part was when the project went from concept to reality. Seeing all the ‘pretty stuff’ show up and the rooms come together showed me that Kammy understood me in a very lovely way. ”

We hope you enjoy our house tour.
This kitchen belongs to a family of four. It was a bit dated and ready for a redo. When I first connected with this client, they had already purchased the countertop material so that became our jumping off point.
We were hopeful that we could take out the soffit and create a beautiful focal point. We got lucky that the duct work was able to be tucked up just enough. The decorative hood with the tile carried all the way up really gives the kitchen a custom look.
By replacing the refrigerator to a counter depth one, we were able to maximize the floor space and create better flow.
This was a real collaborative project, we hope you love it as much as our clients do!

The client wasn't trilled about their builder basic kitchen, even though the home is only a few years old. So we started with new all wood construction and a classic white shaker door cabintet. We used contrasting quartz tops, the island is Skaka Brae from Cambria and the perimeter is Giogio from Pental Quartz. Although the island is the focal point of the kitchen we added a Native Trail bow front sink...it's so big it commands attention in the kitchen and blends nicely with the counter material. One of my favorite details is the kitchen backsplash. It's a matte modeled textured finish subway tile from Spain. We had it extend all the way up the back of the hood.
Kammy was the designer for our kitchen remodel. She took a basic kitchen and turned it into a beautifully designed space with lots of character. She listened to us, she was able to quickly hone in on our style preferences and selected elements that were perfect for us. Kammy stayed in constant communication with us, she's a person of her word and places a high value customer service. I highly recommend Kammy not only for her design experience but also for her friendly manner, her solutions oriented approach, her responsiveness and for putting the customer's needs at the top of her priority list.

This home had to be functional for the family of 5 plus be a showstopper, as the homeowner is a developer of custom homes and is an entrepreneur.
We choose a durable hardwood in a lighter color to keep everything bright and fresh. All the cabinets were custom designed and finished on site. In the kitchen the island was contrasted and grounded with an “elephant” colored finish.
The fireplace, 3 in total, were a huge part of the transformation. Cleaning them up visually and creating a more current ascetic was key. Another area that dated the home was the closed off-compartmentalized rooms, where opening the doors ways created more of flow and function as well as helping the overall feeling. The stack stone in the master bedroom helped draw the eye up as the north wall that had a low ceiling plate.
The goal was a comfy family feeling home that is hospitable and curated. We hope you agree.
Designer, Kammy Kenman has helped with our first home design project back in 2006. Today we wouldn't think of starting an interior design project, big or small, without her being involved in it. Great problem solver, works extremely well under pressure, extremely knowledgeable and always professional.
